Plate-loaded machines
Plate-loaded machines give the gym floor a guided-path strength option built for commercial gyms, hotel gyms and residential fitness rooms.
Plate-loaded machines are commercial-gym staples for guided compound work on major muscle groups — think a Belt Squat machine, a chest-supported T-bar row, a guided Hip Thrust machine or a converging press. The weight comes from plates while the frame guides the movement path, making the exercise repeatable for beginners and experienced lifters alike. Because load is added plate by plate, the same machine serves both a first-time member and a heavy lifter — a fit for commercial gyms, hotel gyms, residential fitness rooms and rehabilitation programmes.
Beyond its own footprint, every machine needs room for loading plates and for the user to move. Catalogue plate-loaded machines range from 80–290 cm long and 60–220 cm wide: a compact seated calf raise takes 140 × 60 cm, a Belt Squat machine needs 220 × 120 cm, and the Xtreme linear leg press already runs to 290 × 180 cm. Before buying, it is worth checking the bearings, guide rails, cable or belt, and how well the upholstery holds up — these determine maintenance cost over the years.
