Benches
Benches — flat, incline and specialty training benches for the free-weight area of a commercial, hotel or residential gym.
Benches cover a wide range: flat and incline benches for pressing, decline benches, a Scott bench for biceps work, GHD and hyperextension benches for the back and glutes, and a competition powerlifting bench. Most of these are used together with free weights — dumbbells and barbells — so benches and dumbbell racks need to sit in the same zone. That keeps the distance between weight and bench short for members, whether it's a commercial club, a hotel gym or a residential fitness corner.
Footprint depends on the bench type: a simple ab crunch bench fits a 90 × 50 cm footprint, an ab balance bench needs 80 × 90 × 80 cm, an adjustable decline bench already takes 145 × 50 × 115 cm, and a 45° hyperextension needs 125 × 65 × 100 cm. Every bench needs at least enough clear space around it to lift a dumbbell or lower a bar, or rows of benches placed side by side end up too tight and create a bottleneck at peak hours.
